Mumbai: Ahead of the inauguration of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has purchased a plot in The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave in Ayodhya, being developed by Mumbai-based developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha.
The actor has bought the 10,000 square feet of land for Rs 14.5 crore in the project, which spans 51 acres, located 15 minutes away from the shrine and 30 minutes away from the Ayodhya international airport, according to Hindustan Times.
“I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries. This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital,” the Big B was quoted as saying.
Notably, the actor was born in Allahabad (now Prayagraj), which is a four-hour drive from Ayodhya through National Highway 330.
The project includes residential plots, villas on a total 31 acres and high-rise luxury apartments on 15 acres and a five-star palace hotel in collaboration with the Brookfield group-owned Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, the Economic Times reported.
“This venture not only signifies the transformation that Ayodhya is witnessing, but also sets the stage for opulence and hospitality that respects Ayodhya’s rich legacy. As India’s largest branded land developer, we aim to contribute significantly to Ayodhya’s cultural and economic landscape,” The Abhinandan Lodha Group chairman Abhinandan Lodha told ET.
