Bhubaneswar: A movement to promote cleanliness in the country has gained ground and seen support from all sections of the society, including popular actors and actresses who have been promoting ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
Even after four years of this initiative, the spark has not died. Recently, a music video spreading the message of keeping the environment clean, ‘Amrutam Gamaya’ was released. Singer Susmita Das lent her voice to this music video.
Produced by the National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco), this music video is an ode to Swachh Bharat and promotes cleanliness through community participation as it is everyone’s responsibility.
The lyrics of ‘Amrutam Gamaya’ is based on well-known Devdas Chhotray’s Odia poetry, which was translated to Hindi by Mohan Majithia. The music has been composed by Omprakash Mohanty, while filmmaker Nilamadhab Panda conceptualized the video.
Directed by Vishal Mourya and Debiprasad Lenka, the video showcases how children dissuade adults from littering at public place through humble attempts. As many as 400 children of Bhubaneswar-based BJEM school have enacted in the video.
“The Nalco needs to be complimented for having taken up a noble cause. It took more than two months to complete the song. The habit of keeping the surrounding clean can be transformed to others, which can make the world a better place to breathe in,” said Susmita Das. She believes in making some meaningful music.
Das’ ‘Aau na kara kaha age guhari’ with traditional tunes and rhythms released during Utkal Divas had also received rave views. Her rendition of Mayadhar Mansingh’s classic poems ‘Maya Darpan’ had won accolades.
