Mumbai: Ananya Panday, who is currently on a promotional spree for her film ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’, opened up about body positivity, urging confidence in all shapes and sizes.
Ananya shared her honest approach to periods, diet, fitness and self-acceptance in an interview with Brut India.
“I have always been very, very vocal about the fact that we have to have a very strong sense of self and be confident in whatever shape and size we are. As a girl, you go through so many changes in your body. It’s like every month, you have your periods and you feel bloated. There are so many different phases we go through, so I have always been open about it,” the actress said.
“Like today, I have my period, so I was like, I don’t want to wear anything too tight. I’m just going to be in jeans and will try to be as chill as possible. I speak very honestly about how I’m feeling. I don’t get into over-editing photos or touching them up,” she continued.
Speaking about how she follows a certain diet only when needed, the actress said, “When it comes to the film Tu Meri Main Tera, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, you look so fit,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I worked for it. It’s not like I am naturally like that.’ I had to follow a very strict diet, and I was working out every single day. Now I don’t have to be a certain way for a role, so I’m enjoying my food.”
Directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures along with Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, Kishor Arora, and Bhumika Tewari, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri’ will hit theatres on December 25.
Besides Ananya and Kartik Aaryan, the film also stars Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Tiku Talsania in supporting roles.
