Kolkata: Bizarre you might say; others may call it in bad taste. Whether you like it or not, a well known Bengali sweet shop chain in Kolkata has come up with Corona Sandesh and Corona Cake. Before you jump to conclusions about the owner trying to cash-in-on the opportunity, there’s a disclaimer. The sandesh is not for sale, it is being given free to customers to spread awareness about the deadly coronavirus, reported IANS.
The chain, Hindustan Sweets has a tradition of producing sweets christened after big happenings. During the India-Bangladesh pink ball Test at the Eden Gardens last November, the chain’s Pink Ball sandesh had sold like hot cakes, IANS reported.
“The dos and don’ts for preventing the disease will be printed on the packet. If people meticulously follow the directives being given to them by the authorities, then the world will be corona free one day,” proprietor of Hindustan Sweets, Rabin Pal told IANS.
