Berhampur: An Anganwadi worker succumbed to COVID-19 in Ganjam district on Saturday.
According to sources, the Anganwadi worker of Bada Danda Sahi Centre at Bhismagiri in Digapahandi block P Mangamma Patra was engaged in door-to-door campaign to promote awareness about coronavirus and collection of regular health reports of the people when Ganjam was the hot spot.
She suffered from fever while carrying out her duty at the quarantine centre in Bhismagiri. She was initially admitted in Berhampur City Hospital and then shifted to MKCG Hospital. Later, she was undergoing treatment in COVID Hospital at Sitalapalli where she succumbed to the disease, the soueces said.
