Mumbai: Veteran actor Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap took Twitter by storm on Sunday as they indulged in a war of words, targeting each other.
The Twitter banter started when Anil congratulated his ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ co-star Shefali Shah and Delhi Crime team for bagging an award at the 48th International Emmy Awards.
“I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again because they absolutely deserve it! Congratulations to the #DelhiCrime team! Nice to finally see more of our people get international recognition. @ShefaliShah_ #WelcomeToHollywood,” wrote Anil.

Anurag was referring to ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ as Shah Rukh was the first choice for the role Anil played in the film.
Anil wasn’t one to give up easily, and replied: “Hand-me-down or pick-me-up: I don’t care. Work is work. Tumhare jaise kaam dhoondte waqt baal toh nahi nochne padte (At least I don’t have to tear my hair looking for work). #actorlife.”

Anurag replied, “Sir, you don’t talk about hair. Aapko toh apne baal ke dum pe roles milte hain (You get roles only because of your hair). #BaalBaalBaloo #TheJungleLife.”

Anil gave it back to Anurag by tweeting, “Beta, you need serious skills to have a career like mine. Aise hi nahi chal rahi humari gaadi 40 saal se (There is a reason why my engine has been running for the last 40 years). #TheRealAK.”

Anurag then posted, “Sir har 40 saal purani gaadi ko vintage nahi kehte. Kuch ko khatara bhi kehte hain (Sir, not every old car is called vintage. Some are just junk). #retirementcalling.”

Taking a dig at Anil, Anurag wrote: “Agar gaadi Race 3 ki ho toh ((If it is the Race 3 car, then) it’s better that it stays in the garage only. #havemercy.”

The only reason why I’m crying is because I agreed to do this film with you. But don’t worry, I’m going to have the last laugh. #gameon https://t.co/aikOJvjkRE

Post the war of words with Anurag, Anil mentioned director Vikramaditya Motwane in his tweet and asked him to take care of the trailer of their upcoming film.
Happy Birthday, @VikramMotwane!! I know Anurag is your friend but trailer main sambhal lena…if you know what I mean!! Lots of love from your favourite AK ( for real )! pic.twitter.com/sM8rQrFhja

Well, the hilarious banter between Anil and Anurag seems to a promotional gimmick for their upcoming film ‘AK vs AK.’
Helmed by Motwane, AK vs AK revolves around a disgraced filmmaker, played by Anurag, who kidnaps the daughter of an actor whose character is played by Anil.
