Cuttack/Bhubaneswar: A three-member team of CBI officials on Friday interrogated family members of Bibekananda Biswal alias Biban, the prime accused in the sensational gang rape of Anjana Mishra, at his native village Naranpur.
During interrogation, the central investigating officials sought details from the family about those who had helped Biban to abscond soon after the incident, which took place on January 9, 1999, at Barang, on the outskirts of Cuttack.
Apart from this, they also grilled them on the money, which they received regularly from him.
Sources said that the CBI officials seized bank passbooks and some incriminating documents.
They also questioned some villagers about Biban.
A two-member CBI team had also questioned Anjana Mishra at her house. On the basis of the interrogation, the CBI is going to frame the final chargesheet, sources added.
