The examinations which began at 10.30 AM will end at 1 PM.

While the examinations for Science and Commerce streams began on the first day, the examinations for the Arts stream will begin from Wednesday.

Out of a total of 3,65,826 students of 1539 junior colleges , 2,33,978 students of Arts, 96,175 students of Science, 27,447 students in Commerce and 8226 students of Vocational Education streams are appearing in the examinations which will conclude on March 29.

The examinations are being conducted in 1104 centres. The Council has set up 202 hubs where question papers are kept amid 24-hour security with CCTV surveillance.

While Ganjam district has the highest number of students with 32,793, the maximum examination centres are in Cuttack and Ganjam districts with 72 each.

In Khurda district, a total of 27,030 students of 133 colleges are appearing in 61 centres.

For any information relating to examinations, the Council has set up a 24-hour control room at its headquarters office. Apart from this, the Council has opened a helpline number-0674-2303803.

To curb malpractice, a three-tier flying squad has been formed at the Council level, three zone office level and the district level.

Apart from this, CCTV cameras have been installed in the examination halls.

The question papers would be taken from the examination management hubs to the examination centre between 7 AM and 9 AM with tight security by the local police.

Taking note of the alleged leakage of question papers in the ongoing annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, the Council has asked all centre superintendents to ensure that no students are allowed to carry books, mobile phones or any electronic device to the examination hall. Besides, no teacher and staff can keep their mobile phone during the opening of question paper packets. Arrangements have been made to keep the mobile phones in a separate room in each centre.

The question papers would be opened in the presence of the centre superintendent, deputy superintendent, a representative of the district administration, hub observer and invigilators. After the distribution of question papers, the surplus question papers would be kept under the custody of the centre superintendent in a sealed packet.

If any student completes the answers earlier than the scheduled time, he/she would not be allowed to move outside the examination hall with the question papers.
