Bhawanipatna: Amid the COVID-19 surge, cases continued to pour in from campuses in Odisha on Monday.
The tentacles have now spread to Kalahandi where 32 students of Pragati Science Higher Secondary School have tested positive for the virus.
Kalahandi Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Pratap Kumar Behera confirmed that the infected students were hostel boarders. “Initially, 12 of them had tested positive for the virus. The antigen test of another 10 was found to be positive later,” the CDMO added.
They have been placed under quarantine.
A medical team has reached the institute to collect swab samples of other students for the COVID-19 test.
