Phulbani: Kalinga Ghati in Kandhmal district witnessed second accident in less than 24 hours when another bus carrying stranded migrants from Surat hit a roadside barricade in the hilly terrain after brushing against a truck, leaving five injured, on Sunday.
Rescue operation is underway.
“There were 57 passengers, including 3 women in the bus. The mishap took place as the driver was not acquainted with the route. All passengers are safe,” said SDPO (G Udayagiri) J K Behera said.
Two persons were killed and several others were injured after a bus carrying migrants from Surat met with an accident on the same stretch on Saturday.
Earlier this morning, a bus with Odisha natives from Surat overturned on Nagpur-Amravati national highway.

Five persons injured in the accident have been admitted to Karanja hospital in Amravati. The bus was enroute Ganjam.
