Another country Set To Allow Indian Travellers Visa-Free Entry; Check Full List
New Delhi: There’s good news for Indians who are planning to travel to Indonesia for business or holiday. The south-east Asian country is planning to provide visa-free entry.
India is among 20 countries that the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has proposed issuing free entry visas to travellers.
The aim is to increase tourist visits, which will result in a multiplier effect on the economy.
“The ministry proposed 20 countries with the highest number of foreign tourists, except for those with existing visa exemptions,” Indonesia’s Tourism minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said.
India is obviously among them as thousands from the world’s most populous country visit the Indonesian islands, with Bali topping the destination list.
“We are targeting quality tourists, especially those with longer stays and higher spending in the local economy,” he elaborated.
According to Forbes India, there are 27 countries which currently provide Indians visa-free entry, including the latest additions of Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Taiwan.
Malaysia joined the list as recently as on December 1.
