Berhampur: Yet another elephant was found dead in Mujagarh range of Odisha’s Ganjam district. The carcass was found near Tiliki village on Wednesday.
“It is a female elephant aged between 12 and 14. Samples of the carcass will be sent for postmortem,” forest officials said.
Though the exact reason of its death is not yet known, it is being suspected that the animal might have died due to intra-herd fight. Locals said that they had sighted a 18-member elephant herd in the area on Tuesday.
Notably, an elephant had died in this range on Monday. The carcass was recovered near Jhilimili small irrigation project under Binjhigiri beat house.
