Malkangiri: After a brief lull, another court in Odisha received an anonymous bomb threat email on Monday morning, triggering panic and large-scale security checks.
According to sources, police personnel accompanied by sniffer dogs and a bomb disposal squad swept the District and Sessions Court complex in Malkangiri district after immediate evacuation of judges, lawyers, litigants, and staff as a precautionary measure, but found nothing suspicious.
The threat message, sent to the official email ID of the District Magistrate, claimed that a bomb had been planted inside the court premises. While security around the court has since been tightened, a detailed investigation is underway to trace the email’s origin and identify the sender.
Similar bomb threat emails have targeted multiple district courts across Odisha in recent months, including in Cuttack, Puri, Phulbani, Jajpur, and others, with police consistently classifying them as hoaxes after thorough checks found no explosives.
