Another Odisha Engineer Under Vigilance Scanner; Raids On At 8 Places, Including Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday raided Umesh Shashini, assistant engineer of Keonjhar Baitarini Canal Division, on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Simultaneous searches are being carried out at eight places in Bhadrak, Baripada, Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Keonjhar.

>> Office room of Shashini at Baitarani Irrigation Division, Salapada, Keonjhar

>> A single-storey residential house at Apartibindha, Bhadrak town

>> Flat No.303 Shyam Enclave, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar

>> House at native village Betira under Nandipur PS of Keonjhar

>> Relative’s house at Vill- Matha Sahi under Kuakhia, Jajpur

>> Outhouse over Plot No.1049, Khata No.704/534, Mouza and Balianta, Khurda.

>> Outhouse over Plot No.11, Khata No.159, Mouza- Sudusudia, Anandapur, Keonjhar

The exact value of assets unearthed during the searches is still to be ascertained. The probing teams are said to have seized some crucial documents related to properties owned by Shashini. Details of investments and deposits made in banks, insurance, other schemes are also being verified.
