Bhubaneswar: The number of BJD leaders in Odisha afflicted with COVID-19 has further gone up with Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi testing positive for the virus.
In a message on social media, Majhi has said that he was under home isolation. He advised people, who had come in contact with him, to undergo COVID test and keep themselves in home isolation.
Earlier, Bhadrak MP Manjulata Mandal had also tested positive. BJP leader Suresh Pujari, who represents Bargarh Lok Sabha constituency, is the other Parliamentarian from the state to have contracted the virus.
The other infected BJD leaders are Textiles, Handlooms and Handicrafts Minister Padmini Dian, Higher Education and Agriculture Minister Arun Sahu, Rural Development Minister Susanta Singh, Basudevpur BJD MLA Bishnubrata Routray, Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, former minister Debi Prasad Mishra, Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Polasara MLA Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, Salepur MLA Prasant Behera and Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Mallick.
Nilagiri MLA and BJP leader Sukanta Nayak had also tested positive for the virus.
