Another Question Paper Leak In Sambalpur University!

Sambalpur: The spectre of question paper leak continued to haunt Sambalpur University with concerns that the third-semester Mathematics paper of Plus-III Science stream was reportedly in circulation much before the examination on Saturday.

The development came two days after reports of the leak of Chemistry and Zoology question papers for exams in colleges affiliated to the university.

University sources said the Mathematics examination was scheduled to be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday.

Accordingly, the varsity authorities were supposed to send the question papers through e-mail to the affiliated colleges between 11 am and 12.30 pm. The college authorities were asked to download the question papers from the mail and conduct the examination.

However, before the commencement of the examination, the university’s controller of examinations informed the colleges regarding a change in the question paper. The varsity authorities also said that new question sets will be sent to colleges for the remaining examinations.

Soubhagya Manjari Dehury, the principal of Rourkela Municipal College, said, “First we received a message from the varsity authorities regarding replacement of question papers. The authorities initially did not specify which paper will be replaced. Then we got another message regarding replacement of Mathematics question paper. The sealed question papers which we received earlier will be returned to the varsity.”

Suryanarayan Nayak, controller of examination at Sambalpur University, however, dismissed the reports of question paper leak.

“As a precautionary measure, we changed the Mathematics paper. We did not have any apprehension regarding question paper leak. We just randomly changed the paper.”

The question papers of 3rd Semester Chemistry and Zoology had reportedly leaked on Wednesday following which the varsity authorities prepared a new set of question papers and conducted examination for both the subjects on Thursday.
