Rourkela: A doctor posted at the community healthcare centre (CHC) here succumbed to COVID-19 at KIIMS Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The deceased, Dr RB Mahapatra, was the fourth doctor in Odisha and second in Sundargarh district to have died of the deadly virus.
Earlier, a surgeon posted at Rourkela Government Hospital here, a doctor each in Sambalpur and Ganjam districts had succumbed to COVID-19.
Mahapatra was cremated amidst a special guard of honour at Swargadwar, Vedavyas.
The Rajgangpur MLA, Rourkela ADM and Rourkela Municipal Corporation Commissioner were present on the occasion.
