Rourkela: A surgeon posted at Rourkela Government Hospital (RHG) here succumbed to COVID-19 on Saturday.
The deceased, Dr AK Das, was the third doctor in Odisha to have died of the deadly virus. Earlier, a doctor in Sambalpur and another in Ganjam had succumbed to COVID-19.

Dr Das, who was engaged in the outpatient department of RGH, was cremated amidst a special guard of honour at Swargadwar, Vedavyas.
Sundargarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Rourkela Municipal Corporation Commissioner and other officials were present at the occasion.
