Another Tigress Killed In India

Lucknow: Just days after the controversial killing of Avni, villagers in Uttar Pradesh killed a tigress near Dudhwa tiger reserve on Sunday. The tigress, who had earlier mauled a 50-year-old man, was beaten and run over to death.

Angry villagers, who stay inside the buffer zone, entered the core area of the reserve and beat up the guards and run a tractor over the tigress.

According to forest department officials, the tigress had never attacked humans in the last 10 years.

The villagers, however, said that the tigress has been attacking their livestock and their complaints to the forest officials have yielded nothing.

Actor Randeep Hooda tweeted about the killing:

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and others also lashed out at the incident.
