Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 12 more COVID-19 deaths on Friday, taking the toll to 247.
Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj reported their first COVID-19 death.
According to the tweet by health and welfare department, three cases each have been reported from Sundargarh and Ganjam and one each from Mayurbhanj, Kendrapada, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, and Gajapati.
The Health Department identified them as
- A 55-year-old man of Mayurbhanj district who was also suffering from hypertension.
- A 36-year-old man of Kendrapada district who was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
- A 78-year-old woman of Sambalpur district who was also suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
- A 55-year-old man of Bhadrak district who was also suffering from diabetes.
- A 61-year-old man of Dhenkanal district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
- A 77-year-old man of Sundargarh district.
- A 77-year-old man of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
- A 66-year-old man of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
- A 52-year-old man of Ganjam district.
- A 50-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
- A 62-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from hypertension.
- A 34-year old man of Gajapati district who was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
With these 12 deaths, the virus has so far claimed 123 lives in Ganjam district, 31 in Khurda, 11 in Cuttack, 15 in Gajapati, 16 in Sundargarh, 10 in Rayagada, four each in Nayagarh, Bhadrak and Puri, three each in Balasore, Kendrapada, two each in Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi and Angul and one each in Bargarh, Jhasuguda, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, and Dhenkanal.
