Bhubaneswar: ‘Anti Ragging Week’ was observed at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University (SOA) here from August 14 to 18.
Various activities were organised over five days to create awareness among faculty, staff and students about the menace of ragging.
Over 400 staff members and 4,000 students attended the awareness programmes.
Debates, essay writing, coining of slogans, poster making and rangoli were held in different campuses of SOA as per UGC guidelines.
Orientation programmes were held at the institute and hostel level, involving students and staff, to ensure a ragging-free campus.
The winners of different competitions were presented prizes on Tuesday at an event attended by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda.
Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Dean of Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS) and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare) also addressed the programme.
