Bhubaneswar: Having teased the audience for weeks under the initials ‘MM’, National Award-winning filmmaker Anupam Patnaik has finally announced his next project ‘Mantra Muugdha’ with a mahurat puja.
Anupam sparked intrigue and excitement across the industry by revealing that his upcoming work will be a fantasy comedy.
After the resounding success of ‘Karma’, which enjoyed a record-breaking run and won critical acclaim, Anupam returns with ‘Mantra Muugdha’.
Produced by Barsha Patnaik under the banner of Amiya Patnaik Productions, the film promises to deliver thrills, laughter, and layered social commentary.
Building on the momentum of ‘Karma’, which grossed over ₹8.5 crore across the country and ran for more than 50 days, Anupam reunites with Sanoj Kumar and Manmay Dey in the lead roles, and introduces promising newcomer Sarthak Bharadwaj.
Dipanwit Dash Mohapatra, the breakout performer from ‘Pratikshya’, is part of the ensemble cast, along with talented actors Hara Rath, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Nishant Majithia, Soma Hota and Bhakti Das.
Familiar faces from across media, including television star Pihu Mohapatra and popular digital creator Mr Rout, are also part of the film.
‘Mantra Muugdha’ also marks the first-time collaboration of Bhoomika Dash with the production house. Suryamayee Mohapatra, who showed her mettle in ‘Karma’, completes a cast that is a combination of the familiar with the fresh.
The film will be guided by Anupam’s trusted technical team, including cinematographer Deepak Kumar, editor Rashmi Ranjan Dash, sound designer Shakti Swaroop Dwibedy, sync sound Chandrasekhar Sharma.
The story has been penned by Anupam and Roshan Bisoi, the screenplay is crafted by Rohit Gehlot and Anupam, with dialogues by Pranab Rath and additional screenplay and dialogues by Nishant Majithia.
Five music directors — Ashish Pradhan, Anurag Patnaik, Sangeet Patnaik, Anurag Panda and Roumyaj Pradhan — have come together to create a vibrant score.
