New Delhi: The Supreme Court has slammed BJP leader Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks on the Prophet. Accusing the leader of “igniting emotions across the country”, the apex court said that she owed the nation an apology. IT was hearing a plea filed by Nupur Sharma seeking transfer of the FIRs against her to Delhi.
“This lady is single-handedly responsible for what is happening in the country,” the top court said, according to Bar & Bench. “She and her loose tongue has set the entire country on fire.”
Sharma had approached the Supreme Court seeking the transfer of the FIRs against her to Delhi. FIRs had been registered against her in several states, following her remarks on the Prophet during a news debate on the Gyanvapi mosque issue.
The Supreme Court said her outburst is responsible for the unfortunate incident at Udaipur, where a tailor was murdered.
