New Delhi: Apple is set to launch the iPhone SE 4 on Wednesday night.
The return of SE series after three years is aimed to attract first-time buyers, switching from Android, especially in emerging markets like India.
Alongside the new iPhone SE 4, the company may also introduce other products like second-generation AirTag, iPad 11, Apple Watch SE, AirPods and an upgraded iPad Air.
Smart phone users, especially the younger generation, are eagerly waiting to find out what Apple has in store for the iPhone SE 4. There have been several speculations and rumoured ‘leaks’ over the last few months about its possible features and specifications.
Possible features
The iPhone SE 4 is set to be Apple’s biggest upgrade in three years for its lower cost, affordable lineup. Expected to be renamed iPhone 16e, it may feature a design similar to the iPhone 14, with a glass and aluminium build, a display notch, an Action Button, and a USB-C port.
Unlike its predecessors, the iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display (60Hz), powered by Apple’s A18 chip, 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. It may also include Apple’s first in-house 5G chip, replacing Qualcomm. Camera upgrades could feature a 48MP rear and 12MP front shooter, promising high-quality photos. Battery life is expected to be similar to that of iPhone 14.
A major upgrade could be the inclusion of Apple’s A18 processor, though without AI-powered features. It will likely come with iOS 18 pre-installed.
Likely price
As Apple is targeting those who have been contemplating switch from Android, they are learnt to be challenging OnePlus in the ₹40,000 price range. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be priced above ₹40,000 in India. All these are speculative, and there has been no official word on specs and prices.
The launch event will start streaming live at 11.30 pm IST on Apple’s website.
