India Bans Apple Macbook Pro On Flights
After a number of foreign airlines banned Apple Macbook Pro over fire risk in the last couple of weeks, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India on Monday banned the same on its domestic flights.
DGCA has banned MacBook Pro in both cabin and check-in bags citing fire risk issued by Apple on select 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops manufactured between September 2015 and February 2017.
Apple is currently replacing the battery of the affected devices for free and has asked users to stop using them till then.
The laptop had previously been banned by European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EUASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
