Bhubaneswar: The winter session of Odisha Assembly, which will commence on Thursday, is likely to be stormy with the opposition BJP and Congress gearing up to corner the government with Archana Nag honey-trap case and the plight of farmers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party meeting chaired by Leader of Opposition Jaya Narayan Mishra also decided to oppose the decision to continue the practice of participation in the House proceedings by any member through virtual mode.
Opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi said the saffron party will also seek a debate on the plight of farmers.
The Congress Legislators also chalked out a strategy to corner both the BJD and the BJP by raising issues on farmers’ miseries like crop insurance, drought input subsidy, and price rise. Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Narasingha Mishra told media persons as several ruling BJD leaders are allegedly involved in the Archana Nag scandal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should make a statement in this regard in the House.
