Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday unearthed two multi-storey buildings, eight plots, 150 gram gold and Rs 1.55 lakh in cash during raids on ARI-cum-incharge RI of Kumuli Circle under Koraput’s Boriguma Tehsil, Surendra Tanti, accused of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Assets detected in the name of Tanti and his family members are as follows:
1. One double-storey building over 2,000 sqft area at Boriguma, Koraput.
2. Another double-storey building over 2,000 sqft area at Jhilimili, Boriguma, Koraput.
3. 8 plots in and around Boriguma.
4. Rs 1,55,000 in cash
5. Gold jewellery weighing 152 grams.
6. 3 four-wheelers (Bolero, Mahindra SUV & Maruti Alto) & one two-wheeler.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, insurance & postal deposits and other investments are also being ascertained, an official release said.
Earlier in the day, simultaneous house searches were carried out by teams led by 3 DSPs, 7 inspectors, 5 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore at 8 locations in Koraput district.
The raids are currently underway at these following places:
1) Residential double-storey building at Boriguma.
2)Rented residential house of his daughter at Boriguma.
3) Hose at his native village Ranaspur, Boriguma, Koraput.
4) House of his relative at Kamta village under Boriguma, Koraput.
5)Two-storey building of his relative at Boriguma.
6)Two-storey market complex at Boriguma.
7)His building at Boriguma.
8) Office chamber of Tanti at Kumuli, Boriguma.
