Mumbai: Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami on Thursday sought a stay on Mumbai Police’s investigation into interior designer Anvay Naik’s 2018 suicide case.
In an application filed before Bombay high court, Goswami has also urged the court to transfer the investigation to CBI or any other independent agency, PTI has reported.
Bombay high court will hear the matter on December 10.
After Naik and his mother ended their lives in 2018, a suicide note written by the interior designer was found in which he blamed Goswami.
Mumbai Police, which investigated the case, closed it for lack of evidence. The case was reopened in October this year and Goswami was arrested on November 4 on charges of abetting the dual suicide.
He was granted interim bail on November 11 after moving Supreme Court.
Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh has recently said a charge sheet will be filed soon in the case.
