New Delhi: Republic TV’s Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami moved Supreme Court (SC) against the Bombay High Court’s order that denied him interim bail in a two-year-old abetment to suicide case.
In his petition, Goswami has challenged high court’s November 9 order that asked him to approach the sessions court for regular bail.
Goswami’s petition has been listed before a Vacation Bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Indira Banerjee. The matter will be taken up at 10.30 am on Wednesday.
The Bombay High Court had refused to grant interim bail pleas of the anchor and two others — Feroze Shaikh and Nitish Sarda — in connection with the alleged abetment to suicide of an interior designer.
Goswami has made the Centre, Alibaug SHO, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and Akshyata Anvay Naik as parties to his appeal besides the Maharashtra government.
