Puri: A devotee has donated gold ornaments weighing around 5 kg to the deities of Jagannath Temple here.
The devotee, who did not want to be identified, donated gold jewellery of 4.85 kg on the occasion of Basant Panchami on the day. He handed over the ornaments to Krishan Kumar, chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in presence of several members of SJTA.
The ornaments will be used to adorn the deities on different festivals and occasions.
On January 10, a devotee had donated gold ornaments weighing over 300 gm to the deities. Earlier, another devotee had pledged to donate 21 kg of silver ornaments.
