Arrested Odisha IFS Officer Abhay Pathak Suspended From Service

Bhubaneswar: The tainted IFS officer and Additional PCCF of Plan, Program & Afforestation Abhay Kant Pathak has been placed under suspension after he was arrested in disproportionate assets case on Friday.

Vigilance officials arrested Pathak and his son Akash Kumar Pathak for amassing assets beyond their known sources of income. Both of them are currently lodged in the Jharapada jail after the court rejected their bail applications.

On Wednesday, the Vigilance had raided on the properties of Pathak and his acquaintances and relatives at 13 locations in Bhubaneswar, Pune and Mumbai.

The Vigilance has found the senior IFS having disproportionate assets over Rs 10 crore.  While he spent about Rs 3 crore on 20 chartered flights alone, the officials found that more than Rs 1 crore was paid towards house rent of the luxury flats and the farmhouse in Pune.
