Berhampur: Artist Satya Maharana has added another feather in his cap by earning a place in ‘Asia Book of Records’ for creating a portrait of Goddess Kandhuni Devi of Sorada in Ganjam district.
Well, what makes his art work special. He completed the 11 inch by 15 inch portrait using 1,115 buttons in barely four hours.
Thousands of devotees offer prayers to the Goddess at the famous Kantapida Jatra of Sorada.
The Goddess’ face is made from red buttons, eyes with white buttons and garland with yellow buttons.
In October 2020, Satya had entered ‘India Book of Records’ for this creation.
The miniature artisan of Berhampur town has 30 international and national records for creating small artifacts in wood, chalk, soap and sand.
