Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been cleared by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs-on-cruise case more than a month ago. But Aryan has still not got back his passport, which was confiscated after he was taken into custody last October.
Now, Aryan has filed a petition before a special NDPS Act seeking the return of his passport.
His plea was based on the fact that the NCB has not filed a chargesheet against him and five others, who were earlier named as accused in the cruise ship drugs case.
On Thursday, special NDPS judge VV Patil directed NCB to file its reply and posted the matter for hearing on July 13.
Aryan’s petition, filed through advocate Rahul Agarwal, also sought cancellation of his bail bond and a formal order discharging him from the case.
The NCB, headed by then-Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, raided the Cordelia cruise ship on October 2, 2021 and arrested Aryan and others claiming that drugs had been found in their possession.
After Shah Rukh’s son spent more than three weeks in Arthur Road prison before being granted bail.
