As COVID Cases Breach 10,000 Mark, Aspirants’ Plea To Odisha CM: Postpone OCS Main Exam
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) aspirants have urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to postpone the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Main Exam-2020 in view of the COVID-19 third wave sweeping the state.
The exams are scheduled from January 20 to February 6.
In a letter to the CM, the candidates pleaded that many of them won’t be able to appear for the exams if it was held on schedule because of the COVID-19 situation.
Many candidates for the OCS exams have already tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be able to appear unless postponed, they said.
They pointed out that some Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants tested positive during the Civil Services Main Examination, which began on January 7 and will end on January 16.
The daily COVID caseload breached the 10,000-mark in Odisha on Thursday as 10,059 more people, including 872 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
