Bhubaneswar: Taking strong exception to the incidents in which some minor girls were found to be pregnant during their stay in the ashram schools in Odisha, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought a detailed report from the state government.
In a letter to the chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, the NCPCR has asked him to order a probe into the matter and submit a report in 30 days.
Besides, the Commission has also directed the chief secretary to launch a statewide campaign on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act to make the people aware of the provisions of the Act and advise them to refrain from indulging in sexual offence against the minor girls.
