Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is likely to embark on a 9.5-hour train journey to Rayagada, covering 500 km, after landing in the Odisha capital on August 16.
This will be his first visit to the state after being inducted into the Union Ministry.
According to sources, Vaishaw will first visit Puri by road. After returning to Bhubaneswar, he will board the Hirakand Express for Rayagada.
August 17: He will meet BJP workers in Rayagada and hold roadshows in Jeypore, Koraput and Nabarangpur.
Local MP Ramesh Majhi had earlier told the media that Vaishnaw will review the stalled Jeypore-Nabarangpur railway project in the district. He will also be briefed on the much-awaited Junagarh-Nabarangpur railway project.
