New Delhi: The BJP has crossed the half-way mark in Uttar Pradesh and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has swept Punjab. The BJP is also ahead in Goa and Uttarakhand, according to early election result trends.
The counting of votes began on Thursday for Assembly elections in five states — Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
The BJP is looking at a 250-plus tally in Uttar Pradesh. The ruling party has already crossed the half-way mark.
Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP has crossed the half-way mark in Punjab.
In Uttarakhand, the BJP has widened its lead over the Congress.
The BJP is also firmly ahead in Goa and Manipur.
