Outdoor health services in all government hospitals in West Bengal were paralysed for the second day on Wednesday as protests broke out against the assault on two junior doctors at NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The cease-work agitation by the medical fraternity is of a scale not seen in Bengal in recent past.

Two doctors suffer grievous injuries and admitted to ICU. One doctor suffers a “depressed fracture” on the head and undergoes surgery. His condition is critical. Another suffers fractures on ribs and spine.
