New Delhi: Come March 1, it will be the turn of senior citizens and those above 45 with comorbidities to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Centre has announced that 10,000 government centres and over 20,000 private sites will be set up to vaccinate around 26 crore people in this phase of the world’s biggest inoculation drive.
So how do people who are eligible for vaccination in this phase go about it? For starters, they can register on Co-WIN app from March 1.
The digital platform will transition from Co-WIN 1.0 to Co-WIN 2.0 on February 27 and February 28, which is why no COVID-19 vaccination session will be scheduled during these two days.
Here’s a lowdown of the Co-WIN app and registration procedure:

* Those eligible register yourself for getting the vaccine on the government’s Co-WIN portal from Monday, March 1.
* The app’s new version will be GPS-enabled.
* There will be a walk-in provision to register at the vaccination centre as well.
* People will not be able to choose which vaccine (Covishield or Covaxin) they will get in the new version of the Co-WIN platform. However, they can select the date and the centre.
* Four appointments can be made on one mobile phone.
Co-WIN will be able to take registrations and appointments from multiple applications, including Aarogya Setu or any other application such as a common service app

* Go to the website of the Co-WIN app or cowin.gov.in
* Enter mobile number or Aadhaar card number
* You will receive an OTP with which your account will be created
* You can also get your family members registered on the account
* Visit the vaccination centre on scheduled date and time, and get the jab
* Get your vaccination certificate by mentioning Reference ID
* Those above 45 will have to upload a medical certificate mentioning their comorbid conditions.
