Sydney: With all the players testing negative for COVID-19, the Indian cricket team had their first outdoor training session in Australia on Saturday.
Having left Dubai a day after the IPL final, the Indian contingent landed in Australia on Friday. They will be in quarantine for 14 days in a bio-bubble, but Cricket Australia has made special arrangement for their outdoor training, reported PTI.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted pictures of the team’s outdoor training and a gym session on its Twitter handle.
The likes of Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, Kuldeep Yadav, Hanuma Vihari and Mohammed Siraj trained at Sydney Olympic Park.
This is the first time that the ODI, T20 International and Test squads have travelled together for an overseas bilateral series to maintain bio-secure protocol laid down by the Australian board.
India will kick off the tour on November 27 with a three-match ODI series, followed by three T20 Internationals and four Test matches.
Skipper Virat Kohli has been granted paternity leave and will fly home after the first Test in Adelaide. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is expected to lead in the last three Tests. Kohli and wife will welcome their first child in early January.
