Bhubaneswar: Exhibition-cum-sales stalls of handloom and khadi products have been opened at the railway station, here as part of the Indian Railways’ year-long celebration, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, to commemorate 75 years of Independence.
The exhibition was inaugurated in presence of CR Nayak, Station Director, Bhubaneswar and Sameer Kumar Mohanty, Director of KVIC on Saturday.
The Railways has organised the exhibition with the help of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise. The stalls that have khadi and handloom products will remain open till August 22.
Similar exhibition-cum-sales will be opened at Puri railway station also, according to an Indian Railways release.
As a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration, 75 stations of the Indian Railways have been identified for setting up exhibition-cum-sale stalls of handloom and khadi products as a symbol of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” August 15, 2021 to August 15, 2022.
