Mumbai: The accused in Baba Siddique’s murder, arrested from Uttar Pradesh, has claimed that he is a minor, though his Aadhar card shows that he is 19 years old.
To ensure a fair trial, a Mumbai court on Sunday held off the police custody of the accused and ordered a bone test to or determine his precise age.
Siddique, a three-time MLA and Salman Khan’s close friend, was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office on Saturday night.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has Salman on its hitlist for a long time, claimed responsibility for the murder of the former Maharashtra minister.

The arrested duo has been identified as 23-year-old Gurmail Baljit Singh, from Haryana, while the one claiming to be a minor hails from Uttar Pradesh. The absconding person is Shiv Kumar Gautam, from UP.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to his X handle to express his condolence.
“The tragic demise of Baba Siddique ji is shocking and saddening. My thoughts are with his family in this difficult time. This horrifying incident exposes the complete collapse of law and order in Maharashtra. The government must take responsibility, and justice must prevail,” Rahul wrote.
“Justice must be ensured, and the present Maharashtra government must order a thorough and transparent investigation. The culprits must be brought to book at the earliest. Accountability is paramount,” wrote Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.
