Mumbai: A recent study has revealed that babies born to COVID-19 positive mothers have antibodies against the deadly virus.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Singapore Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research Network found that women infected with COVID-19, delivered healthy babies, who had antibodies against the virus.

Sixteen women were kept under observation for the study. It was found that severe reactions occurred in older women with a high body mass index, whereas most of the women were mildly infected.

Among these women, five delivered babies who had antibodies. The number of antibodies was higher among the babies, whose mothers got infected just before the delivery, said the researchers.
