Nayagarh: The allegation of theft of a newborn boy from a community health centre (CHC) at Rajsunakhala in Odisha’s Nayagarh took a new turn with the hospital authorities refuting the charge as false and baseless.
After verification of CCTV and other records, the hospital authorities as well as police termed the allegation false and maintained that no such incident has taken place at the CHC located under Ranpur block.
According to hospital Superintendent Jagdish Kumar Chandra, the allegation is false and the woman concerned who brought the allegation, has not even got the OPD ticket. He further said that they will lodge a police complaint against the woman for making the false allegation which tarnished the image of the hospital.
The CCTV footage shows that the woman who brought the allegation never entered the labour room of the hospital. She has neither got the OPD ticket nor consulted any doctor of the hospital, he said.
A police official also said the CCTV footage shows the woman has not delivered baby at the hospital. She had not even entered the outdoor department and the police are verifying the case.
It may be noted that Sudhismita Parida, wife of Bijay Kumar Parida from Godabhanga village, had lodged a complaint at the local police station alleging that her newborn boy had been stolen from the hospital.
