Bajaj is reportedly all geared up to showcase its first electric scooter and it might be named ‘e-Chetak’. The scooter is likely to be launched under Bajaj’s new sub-brand Urbanite on October 16. It is expected to be made available in retail outlets by early 2020.
Like the original Chetak, this neo-retro designed electric scooter is expected to have a single-sided front fork.
The e-Chetak has been spotted being tested alongside Ather 450 on the streets of Pune.
From the spy shots, it is expected that the new scooter will have LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity and AI features as well.
While it is not clear what the range will be or how much the power output will be, Rahul Bajaj is reportedly looking to pull a Tesla this time.
The e-Chetak will be priced lower than the Ather 450 at around Rs 1 lakh on road, according to media reports.
