Bhubaneswar: Describing Satyabadi as the seat of Odia renaissance, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday said that Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya was the centre of Odia national consciousness.
Speaking at the Satyabadi Mahotsav 2025 at Sakhigopal, the Chief Minister said the Panchashaka of Satyabadi acted like a mirror of society as they reflected the principles and ideals of human life through education and were the messengers of intellectual independence of Odisha.
Necessary infrastructure and all basic amenities of this area will be developed based on the heritage and glory of Satyabadi, Majhi said.
“Our government has started an initiative to revive the historic Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya, which has illuminated entire Odisha with the light of education. To make the present generation aware of the heritage and tradition of this school, an educational environment will be developed in Bakula Bana to match its original structure. Bakula Bana and Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya will be restored and developed, and turned into a heritage tourism area,” the CM said.
Majhi further said that along with this, the Sakhigopal Temple and its surrounding areas will also be developed.
He added that due to the sacrifices and dedication of the teachers under the supervision of Pandit Gopabandhu, Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya was considered a model educational center in the entire state. This school was designed to strength the character of the students, service-oriented and selfless, so that they considered human service as real service.
The Chief Minister also visited the Odia University and inspected its infrastructure. He also interacted with the Vice Chancellor, professors and students of the university.
Highlighting the progress of the Odia University at the Mahotsav, the Chief Minister said that the infrastructure development work of the Odia University established at Satyabadi will be accelerated.
