Balasore: The Balasore district administration on Friday joined Keonjhar and Khurda in imposing restrictions on celebration of Raja festival to contain the spread of coronavirus.
In a bid to strengthen the measures to prevent spread of coronavirus, the administration announced that Sec 144 will be in force at all temples and shrines in the district from June 14 to 16. As a result, congregation of people at these places to celebrate the Raja is prohibited.
On Thursday, Konjhar put a ban on gathering for celebrations like Raja Doli, Mela, Mahotsav, and feast and traditional games related to Raja festival from June 11-16. Similarly, Khurda clamped Sec 144 at Barunei and Ugratra shrines on the same day.
