Mumbai: Hours after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) banned Ranveer Singh by issuing a non-cooperation directive against him, the superstar chose “restraint and grace” in his response to the controversy.
In an official statement, Ranveer’s spokesperson said that the actor had remained silent throughout the controversy over his abrupt exit from ‘Don 3’, maintaining dignity and restraint.
“Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, h
e has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” read the statement.
“While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead.”
Ranveer wished the ‘Don’ franchise continued success.
“He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance,” the actor expressed.
Filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar, who announced ‘Don 3’ in August 2023, faced repeated delays and casting changes. Kiara Advani was initially learnt to have been roped in for the project, but the collaboration did not materialise.
Ranveer was then brought on board for the role that Shah Rukh Khan played in Farhan’s ‘Don’ (2206) and ‘Don 2’ (2011).
