Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday reopened the market area in Bapuji Nagar here, which was sealed for an indefinite period for violation of social distancing norms on May 12.
The decision was taken after BMC deputy zonal commissioner Anshuman Rath conducted an inspection in the area, BMC sources said.
However, the administration will be keeping a close watch and enforcing social distancing norms in a strict manner in the market area, the sources added.
Here’s the new shop opening arrangement for Bapuji Nagar:
The BMC had allowed for opening of shops in Bapuji Nagar from May 4 following relaxation in the lockdown norms, but repeated violation of the social distancing norms forced the civic body to seal it on May 12.
