Violation Of Lockdown Guidelines: Bapuji Nagar Market In Bhubaneswar Sealed

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday sealed the market area in Bapuji Nagar here indefinitely.

Talking to mediapersons here, BMC deputy zonal commissioner Anshuman Rath said that the BMC had allowed for opening of shops in Bapuji Nagar from May 4. The shop owners and the people were reminded time and again to strictly adhere to the social distancing guidelines.

“Since the shop owners and people continued to flout the guidelines, we were left with option but to seal the market indefinitely,” he added.

Shops dealing with essential services like milk, medicine and baby food will remain open, he added.

It is the responsibility of both the shop owner and people to abide by the guidelines of the govt. When it is observed that the same is violated, whatever action deemed necessary must be taken by the authorities for the betterment of the society. One thing I could not understand why people are inviting the red eyes of the authorities. Why are they becoming so indisciplined by not obeying the folding hand request made by Hon’ble PM and Hon’ble CM. They might not be deserving such request.
